Are you Falling for These 5 Common Protein Powder Rip-offs?

Are you Falling for These 5 Common Protein Powder Rip-offs?

All protein powders are the same, so just buy the cheapest.

Some manufactures use cheap proteins and fillers, then slap a bargain-basement price on their products.

Whey protein is always the best.

Whey protein is good, but is not always the best for every application. Whey protein is quickly absorbed and digested, which makes it great right after your work out. But for your daily meals, you want the protein to be digested and released into your system more slowly, so that you can build muscle throughout the day.

We added some magic pixie dust to our protein, which makes it a zillion times better than normal protein powder.

Sports supplement companies are always looking for ways to make their protein powders sexier. They just add a sprinkle of hot ingredients and then make outrageous claims. Newbies fall for this marketing ploy all the time.

All of the pro bodybuilders use it.

Don't bet on it. The pros featured in ads are paid big bucks for their endorsements. These guys are genetically gifted and have a natural tendency to put on muscle. The good news is that you CAN get bigger and more muscular by doing a lot of heavy lifting, eating a lot of good nutritious food, and supplementing intelligently.

You can't absorb more than 30 grams of protein per meal.

Hard Training athletes do. Those who are big, strong and muscular routinely consume more than 30 grams of protein at every meal.

Clinical studies performed on hard training bodybuilders have shown that you can safely consume and absorb 1.27 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight per day with no changes to normal kidney function. In fact, these bodybuilders did not even get into an anabolic (muscle growth) range until their protein intake approached 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight.
